Open Basecamp AI is run by Number.com.au Pty Ltd (ABN 53 691 785 850), the company behind Open Summit AI. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use openbasecamp.ai, how we use it and who we share it with. We handle it under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. What we collect

We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health or political views. Please don't put it in AI chats or posts.
2. How we use it
- To run your account, show your courses and save your progress.
- To answer your questions in the AI tutor and assistant.
- To issue certificates, and to let people check that a certificate is genuine.
- To take payments and send receipts.
- To send account emails and sign-in codes by email or SMS.
- To keep Open Basecamp AI secure and stop misuse, for example with usage limits.
- To improve our courses, using combined figures rather than individual records where we can.
- To send news and offers, if you have agreed to receive them.
- To meet our legal obligations.
3. AI features
When you use the AI tutor or assistant, your message is sent to OpenRouter, which passes it to the model provider, such as Anthropic, for a reply. To make the answer fit, we also send relevant course content and, if you gave them, your role, business size and goals. We don't sell your chats or use them to train AI models. Our AI providers handle them under their own terms and privacy policies.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that run Open Basecamp AI for us, and only what each needs.
| Provider | What they do | Where your data is processed |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign-in and file storage | Sydney, Australia |
| Vercel | Hosts the website and app | Sydney, Australia, through a global network |
| Stripe | Payments | Australia, the United States and other countries |
| Resend | Sends account emails and receipts | Japan and the United States |
| Twilio | Sends SMS sign-in codes | United States |
| OpenRouter, and model providers such as Anthropic | AI tutor and assistant replies | United States |
| Google Workspace | Our email inbox | United States and other countries |
We may also share information with our professional advisers, with authorities when the law requires it, or with a buyer if our business is sold. We never sell your personal information.
5. Information sent overseas
As the table shows, some of our providers process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States and Japan. We choose providers that commit to protecting personal information.
6. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to run the site: one keeps you signed in, and one remembers your language. Your browser also stores some settings on your device, such as your display preferences. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
7. Emails from us
We send news and offers only if you have agreed, and every one has an unsubscribe link. Emails about your account, such as receipts and sign-in codes, are not marketing, so they keep coming while you have an account.
8. How long we keep it
- We keep your information while you have an account.
- If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your information within 30 days. The exception is payment records, which Australian law requires us to keep for seven years.
- Once your account is deleted, links to your certificates stop working.
9. Keeping it safe
All traffic to the site is encrypted. Access to your data is limited by account permissions, and passwords are stored only in protected (hashed) form. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
10. Access, correction and deletion
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email team@opensummit.ai. We will respond within 30 days, and it costs nothing.
11. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we have handled your information, email team@opensummit.ai and we will reply within 30 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
12. Children
Open Basecamp AI is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We will post any update here with a new date. For significant changes, we will email you.
